A Gem of Andalusia
Torremolinos has long been one of the most gay-friendly cities in spain, and as such is a popular LGBT destination. This former fishing village boasts subtropical sunshine year-round, a vibrant restaurant a bar scene, and of course beautiful sandy beaches. Located just a 20 minute train journey from Malaga, Torremolinos is a popular weekend hot spot for gay men from all over Europe.
Annual events like Torremolinos Pride, Mad Bear Beach Weekend, Delice Dream, and Wonder Beach Festival draw especiually large crowds, but on any given sunny weekend you'll find plenty of men at the beach, the pool, or the bars and clubs.
Fun in the Sun
Whether you spend your day on one of three gay beaches, at the clothing-optional rooftop pool of Hotel Ritual, shopping along the pedestrian street Calle San Miguel, or sightseeing in nearby Malaga, Torremolinos has a lot to offer.
Eden Beach club and El Gate Lounge are the most popular beachside destinations. They offer chairs for daily rental, serve food and have a full bar. Eden often has live DJs in the evening, and often hosts many of the city's annual LGBT events.
Dining and Nightlife
A diverse colection of restaurants await you in Torremolinos. For Mediterranean cuisine head to the unique Ibiza style Ibiza Grill Bar Restaurant. Modern Mediterranean tapas can be had at Casero, and Ibiza Grill Bar Restaurant. La Piezatta is a local italian favorite.
After dinner you'll find a plethora of bars to choose from. Things get going around 10pm or later. Start the night at Lights Bar or catch a drag show at Bar Ego. After the bars close, move on to dancing at Centuryon or cruising clubs Alcatraz and Exxxtreme.
Where to Stay
The amazingly popular Hotel Ritual is situated right at the beach and offers a ground level pool and restaurant, a clothing optional rooftop pool and bar with daybeds, and a sauna in the basement.
