Fabulous Zona Romantica
The heart of Gay PV is the Zona Romantica, which is situated in the heart of PV's Old Town. Characterized by cobblestone streets, plentiful cafes, restaurants, art galleries, bars, and boutique shops, it's easy to fall in love with the history and charm of old world mexico. The Romantic Zone is abuzz in the evening with visitors as well as residents. You'll find amazing dining throughout town and along the beach and malecon, which connects the Zona Romantica with the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood to the north. Don't miss dinner on the beach at La Palapa, brunch at Coco's kitchen, or breakfast Cafe San Angel.
The energy continues well into the night as the bars and clubs keep the music pumping until the wee hours. Nearly all gay bars and clubs are along Calle Lázaro Cárdenas. Popular venues include Mr. Flamingo, La Noche, CC Slaughters, Paco's Ranch, and Industry. You'll also find the gogo bar Wetdreams and Spartacus bathhouse along the same strip. Don't be afraid to stray from the center of the action though, as hidden gems like the fabulouscocktail spot Corner Bar, or wonderfully chill cowboy cantina Los Amigos are also nearby.
Los Muertos Beach
The premier attraction in Puerto Vallarta is definitely Los Muertos beach. This world-renowned mile-long strip of sand is home to several gay beach clubs. The Blue Chairs , Ritmos (Green Chairs) and Manatamar beach club are all adjacent at the far south end of the beach. Find your own vibe and settle in at any of these spots to enjoy a day at the beach. The Blue Chairs and Green Chairs offer chairs and unmbrellas on the beach, with full bar and kitchen service. Prices are reasonable, there is typically no cover, and the servers work very hard to keep the alcohol and food Flowing all day.
Mantamar Beach Club is the furthest south along the beach and is a part of the Almar Resort. Mantamar ofers additional amenities including chaise loungers on the beach, cabanas for rent, infinity pool with swim-up bar, and several hot tubs. Prices are higher here, and you can expect to pay a cover, but that doesnt seem to hamper its popularity. Guests staying at Almar resort enjoy free access to the beach club.
